Hill-Lewis is pushing for Metro Police to be granted investigative powers—a proposal he insists isn’t about “municipal empire building” or “secessionism,” but about addressing the criminal justice system’s catastrophic failure rate. The mayor made these comments during a comprehensive interview with CDE executive director Ann Bernstein.
