US special envoy Zalmay Khalilzad and Taliban political chief Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar signed the peace deal deal in Doha, Qatar. The deal could pave the way toward a full withdrawal of foreign soilders form Afghanistan over the next 14 months, in return for a commitment by the Taliban to refuse sanctuary to jihadist groups such as al-Qaida .
